Whew!

Finally got it to work, and not exactly sure how. I had pressed star-512 several times, but the TIVO did nothing.

Then I figured I'd go ahead and program in the TIVO device code, VCR 0618, to the VCR button to see what that would do... that took a couple of tries, too. Finally, the TIVO started responding to the remote control for normal functions.

After that, Star-512 would sometimes get the TIVO to go standby, sometimes not. After about 6 tries, I successfully got that got learned into the MX-500.

The point of this post is tell others to keep trying! Maybe it has something to do with the length of each ubtton press or the position of the stars, but it seems these things (at least my RS 2104) can be finicky!
