JSL, Did you get any discrete codes for the HDS20? I could use them.
About the fan noise. I sent my unit back to Panasonic for a fix and it isn't worth it. The problem isn't the fan but the thin metal chasis. To quite the unit you need to do two things. First, isolate the fan from the chasis. I used some felt pads like those used on the bottom of chairs so the floor won't get scratched. Place them inbetween the fan and the chasis. I then used tie wraps as fasteners. This keeps the fan floating, some what, instead of fixed. The second thing is to fasten heavy weights on the back panel around the fan opening. Something like those lead weights found on car rims. I had something similar in my junk drawer. The unit is wisper quite now.
