Does anybody know how to have a Pronto Pro button jump to a particular “Favorite List” stored in a Dish 6000 satellite receiver?
I’ve painstakingly programmed several Panels with channel logos that jump to a particular channel, but using the Dish 6000’s channel guide is the best way to rapidly see what’s on several channels at once. The Dish 6000’s channel guide is enormous, unless you setup some Favorite Lists.
The Dish 6000 includes six “Favorite Lists”, two that are built-in and four that can be customized: ALL CHAN ALL SUB LIST 1 LIST 2 LIST 3 LIST 4
I’ve programmed three of the four custom lists to display a small subset of the available channels, like this: ALL CHAN ALL SUB HDTV (contains only 3 choices) LOCALS (contains only 7 choices) KIDS (contains only 8 choices) MOVIES
I want to program a button on my Pronto Pro in order to automatically display a particular Favorite List. I’d like to make it possible, for example, for my kids to simply press “Kids Guide” and then automatically show them the Favorite List named “KIDS”.
I know of two ways to get to a particular list using the Dish 6000’s remote
-press “Menu” -press “4” for “Favorites” -press “Left Arrow” (causing you to highlight the currently selected List!!!) -press “Up” or “Down” as appropriate -press “Enter” (thereby selecting the new List and moving the cursor to “Save”) -press “Enter” (to save) -press “Guide” (to display the newly selected List)
Or
-press “Guide” (to display the currently selected List) -press “Guide” repeatedly until you get to the desired List
Unfortunately, both of the above methods are circular in fashion and they don’t start in a known state. How can you programmatically get to any particular List without knowing what current List you’re starting with.
