As a programmer, I walk into a lot of jobs, unsure whether IR problems are files or wiring.

I was wondering, is there a cheap little IR detector out there, that will simply flash when it sees an IR signal?

I could build one for about $5, but I would rather find something off the shelf (for lets say <$25).
