On this occasion I obtained the Arcam DVD module I was looking for (problem solved).
As you suggest, you could use the CNXLIR to learn the IR codes from either the Pronto or the original remote.
As far as converting from RC5 to Crestron format there are programs available to do this.
Am still investigating.
