I think you're mistaking product lines with the company name. AMX went to Panja about 3 years ago and then changed back to AMX about 1.5 years ago, that's it.
Personally I have AMX in my house, but I work on about 50/50 AMX and Crestron. I'd go with AMX if you want to do a lot of web-based control or have more than one master controller.
