Actually I ended up with Readerware - DVD Profiler looked too much of a symbiotic experience :-). And I picked up a WASP scanner for about $150 from Provantage.com.
Readerware is not perfect but works well for bulk cataloguing. Another thing you can do in Readerware (you may in DVD Profiler, I'm not sure) is to drag a DVD description URL from selected websites like Amazon and Barnes & Nobles into a target to suck up the DVD info and thumbnail.
