Thanks for your post. I needed the advice and comments you gave, and will give it a try. Rest assured, I will try to be objective as possible in discussing the pros and cons of each of these remotes (i.e. A/V 8 vs Cinema7 Radio Shack). Hopefully, the remotecentral.com folks will get their A/V 8 unit soon and will also give their review as well. That being said, my review will be solely limited as to what works best on my equipment. Namely, a Sony STR-DB930 receiver, a Toshiba 3109 DVD, a older Sansui HiFi VCR, and Energy Take 5 + ESL8 subwoofer.

Again, thanks very much for the information you gave. I'll try it out and look for that "amazing discovery" link you referenced.
