I had an incredibly difficult time getting my xantech ir repeater system to work well with my 15-1994 - I guess the combination of interference from my plasma monitor and other light sources in the room were just too much for it. But I finally got it to work dependibly by using the masking tape trick others have reported here.
Now I'm trying to move up to rf with a 15-2117, but I'm back to square one and can't get it to work reliably in this environment. No matter what I do, I can't get the rf receiver to dependibly work an ir receiver (xantech) so that I can consistently control my components.
So, here's my question: can I bypass the problem altogether by somehow plugging my ir emitter bugs (5 of them) into the micro plug output of the 2117's rf receiver?
I already tried plugging a micro plug in there and feeding the output directly into one of my IR emitters but it didn't work well. Is there some trick to this? Alternatively, is there some way that I should be wiring the micro plug output directly into my xantech receiver block?
