This remote rocks!! and the ony thing it's missing
is Learning.

I also love my 1995. Believe it or not, I also converted my wife and she loves the 1995.

Supposedly the 15-2117 IS the 15-1995 with learning.
The button layout is exactly the same but I'm
not sure the 15-2117 has a HomeTheater funtion.

Well, here's the thing. The old sam8 processor couldn't do LCD or RF. The 1993 and 1994 ran on the old sam8 processor. To make an RF remote with LCD, UEIC and RS had to use a mits740 processor, which did not do learning. The new sam8 processor can do RF, LCD and learning. For some wacky reason, RS made the 2103 and 2104 with the new sam8 processor, both with learning, but neither with RF or LCD. Then, someone at RS got a clue and made the 2116/2117 using the new sam8 processor but with the old 1994/1995 style. These remotes are almost identical to each other, and the physical button layout is the same as the 1995, but the functional button layout is quite different. They have a "my system" button replacing the "home theater" button of the 1995.

So, I don't think the 2117 is the 1995 with learning. It's more like the 2116 with RF. Until a 2116/2117 extender is written, the 1995 is slightly superior from a JP1 perspective, but the 2116/2117 has been shown to be better "out of the box" than most of the other RS remotes. In other words, you don't need an extender as badly because they don't have a lot of stupid restrictions in the ability to assign advanced codes or macros.
