Not sure if this is right but this is how I conected my set up. (and it works) I have a panasonic vcr, dvd burner/player, 5 disc dvd player, av reciever, and a directv reciever conected to a hitachi big screen. The only thing I ran through the reciever was the sound. Ran pic cables direct to tv inputs. Except for sat reciever had to run it through burner so I could record. Hope this helps let me know--cope--
