Don't buy a lens cleaner, too much chance to damage your machine. It's usually the disc, not the player, that is dirty. Probably better to take the machine apart than to use one of those.
For setup, try Sound & Vision's disc or Digital Video Essentials. These should be around $20 or less and are worth every penny. If you have a decent TV and audio system, that is. If you are running DVDs through a 20" POS, don't bother.
