Hey, take it easy on the new guys on the block. There are supposedly legal sites where you pay to download movies and with the right cables, you can use your computer to play them on your TV. There was an August New York Times Magazine article about it. So, are they wrong????

My problem is that I have a very small laptop & can't make the connection, so I want to burn DVDs for my personal use (most of these movies you rent and can only watch during a 24 hour period, after which they self destruct or something) as I would with music CDs where I've paid for the songs.

So...if I pay for the use right, is it illegal to burn the movie onto a DVD & what kind of software, DVD will work?

Thanks.
