Why do you want to sense a TV that has discrete power?
Sometimes if a TV has a long warmup time (Like some Sharps & pansonics) and you need to switch inputs it makes sense. Why wait 5-8 seconds when switching? Yes, you could use flags, but the VS is bulletproof.
