Unfortunately, my TV doesn't have a monitor out.

It has optical digi and analog audio outputs.

I guess my post title is a little inaccurate - its not
really video sensing I'm after but sensing of my video
[display] device.

Also I don't want to chop the end off of a perfectly good
SPS1 for my [scrounged together] home system.

I could always go with [Link: nilesaudio.com]

but I don't want to put it on the front of the TV.

In anycase its not too big a deal, just hoping somone
had a nice simple hack for this.
