It should include a "D" in the model number to assure it is AC-3 (Dolby Digital) and you will need a 'digital ready' receiver and optical wire to get 5.1 sound. If I were a new customer, I would go for the digital model even if not fully equipped for it. The salespeople should be pushing this. Not many digital broadcasts yet, but be prepared for the future.
