Judging from your e-mail addy I figure that your around Houston somewhere. If so I'd consider one of the directivo units since you can get your local chanels off of the sat. I have one at my lake house and its kinda cool. It always has some cool stuff for us to watch if the weather is not right. The dual tuner is supose to be activated any day now. That will make this a much better unit. Anyway thats just my 2 cents. I have never had a stand alone tivo but I think you could configure one to work both Sat & over air.
