I am looking at a DVR and need some feedback from those who already own them. Would be using it in conjunction with DirecTV.
1). Can you manually set them to record an "over the air" source (local tv not satellite based) or is all recording set up from menus from the guide service employed?
2) I note (from eBay) that both systems can be upgraded to larger hard drives. Is this a simple matter of mirroring the operating system from the current drive or does it also need other tweaks (ie a new bios?)
