I think spikey was saying that most Ultimate TV's which aren't HD wont have component outs but a DVD or a High Def Sat box would and you can hook them to the 'component' jacks, not to be confused with the yellow composite jack. Also where are the vertical lines and what do they look like? I don't have any on my tv on any of the sources
