And "Alistair" isn't all that common a name, but much less so in the States than in the UK.
Now everybody get ready to bend your brains around this possibility -- it is a person in India who does telephone customer service work for an American company. He uses an English sounding name...imagine the stereotypical Indian accent with the retroflex R's, the perfect pronunciation but slightly different wording. Unless, of course, he is in his American looking office on American time, practicing his American accent on the phone!
