Frankly, I've just about totally given up on codes. My remotes have them, but I always learn everything anyway. Saves time in the long run when the codes aren't quite perfect and you have to learn a few buttons, anyway.
I love my MX-500. Best layout for DVRs. Price keeps moving, but $85 or so.
