The HDMI interface between my Sharp Aquos TV and my Samsung 850 DVD does communicate from the 850 to the Sharp picture view information. The Sharp selects the best picture view aspec for the DVD loaded in the 850. This does not happen on the component or s-video inputs to the TV.
