I have now seen two situations where it appears that switching an HDMI input resets something in a cable box.
In the system I worked with, I proved that when you switch the HDMI switcher away from the Cable Box, then switch it back, the cable box lands on Channel 1, the video on demand channel.
There is another thread where a cable box's video is being reset, apparently after switching away and back.
Does anybody out there know if HDMI is supposed to carry command or setup information BACK to the source, or does it just have audio and video?
