Well, very impressive last night! There was a 2:00 min audio loss generated within the mobile but otherwise a clean production. I was fascinated with the balance of the crowd noise. The surround sound gave the impression that one was actually sitting in the arena. I loved the traveling echo of the horn each time a goal was scored. I've viewed other sporting events on American Networks (Detona 500, Kentucky Durby, NFL Football & NBA Basketball games) so this HD produced hockey game just reinforced the fact that HD definately provides an enhanced Sports viewing environment.

A critizism of CBC's production would fall on the fact that they used graphics created for the 4X3 frame on the 16X9 frame. The Sports Bug was the obvious give away. The left side was cut flat and the right side rounded. This was definetly meant for the top left corner of a 4X3 frame. Graphics that rolled in from the bottom during game play were not finnished off on either the right or left. They just floated in the middle with harsh edges. I guess it's a matter of cost to the production to have two sets of graphics one for 4X3 SD and another for 16X9 HD. In my opinion if your going to produce 16X9 HD sports the cost of enhanced HD graphics to go for the 16X9 frame is well worth the cost.

I don't know if someone else noticed that the audio level of the com'l breaks which were not "Wild", was significantly louder than the program content. I found this to be very troublesome. I found myself muteing the com'l breaks due to the uncomfortability of the audio level. Did anyone else notice this as well?
