It looks like both antennas are VHF/UHF and as such are much heavier, more expensive and harder to install.
VHF band will cease to exist in US in less than 1 year and soon to follow in Canada.
Accordingly UHF-only type of antenna makes great choice, being optimized for digital TV UHF band and easier to install higher.
Rifraf's problem is likely low elevation-Grand River Valley about 195m with some terrain being about 30m higher. Good pre-amplified multi-element UHF-only antenna would be the best guess.
