I bought a Belkin USB to Serial adapter. It installed
on Com Port 5, but I read that Pronto reads to
work on Port 1-4, so I switched it. It still wouldn't
respond, even after a set the baud rate correctly.
Finally, I updated the firmware and that worked
fine, but it still won't load or send and files!
Any input?
By the way, I have everything in front of me,
so I'm not relaying this to my installer remotely.
Did you switch the COM port to COM1? ProntoEdit CLAIMS to work with Ports 1-4, but I've yet to see it succesfully get past COM2. and even thats a stetch.
Even if you get the Belkin to COM-1, dont hold your breath.... The belkin does NOT play nice with Prontos and XP. this has Been reported dozens of times, Including this thread already..
