X-10 did have two pieces of software for the Firecracker kit. One was "Fuse" and the other was something like "MacroRecorder". One did macros, and the other did timed events.

I haven't seen it listed on their website for several weeks. Anyways, you had to buy them, and they were about $20 each. Not worth it!!!

I was supposed to get one of those titles freee for a referral of a friend to buy the Firecracker kit. Unfortunately, I never got it, which is fine since I probably wouldn't use it.

If you're planning to work with macros and timed events, I would seriously recommend the ActiveHome kit for starters. It's a great, easy-to-use kit. And it's not very expensive (about $50, but if you buy it now, it's 12% off).

Even if you had macro software for Firecracker, you'd have to leave your computer on, because there's no way to store the macro information outside the computer.
