Does someone know if there is a possibility to program the pronto, with pronto-edit, by a USB cable?

I hava a laptop with 3 USB outlets and no serial port.
I only have a BELKIN SERIAL ADAPTER for converting the USB to Serial.
There is only one device that is not responding to the adapter and it is the pronto...

Is there someone with the same problem?
