I installed 3 PCS switches and also replaced some existing toggle with the newer style "paddle" type switches to match the pcs switches. There were three to a box so I pretty much had to so the plate would fit.

Anyway, None of the switches I removed had the ground wire connected. Only the White, Black and red traveler wires. The uninsulated ground wires were there and were connected with a wire nut just not connected to the switch. Is this a problem? I installed the new ones the same way leaving off the ground. I did the same with the pcs switches. I just don't want anything unsafe. All is working ok.

My house was built new around 1989.
