I don't really understand why these relays have to be so freakin' loud anyway?????? remember those old big marantz stereo receivers. they had pretty beefy relays (seems like if I remember right they were around 6-10 amps) for their switched outlets. the top backs of the units were open for ventilation and they weren't particlularily loud. the x10 units are absolutely ridiculous. I've got about 10 scattered through the living room, kitchen, TV room, etc, all set to the same code for various xmas decorations. it sounds like a 2x4 split when they all throw. if the dogs are napping, they wake up, head to the door, and start barking.
