I have never used simply automated before. but i know the "it's the other guy's problem" has come up when ive called hai about integrating lutron and other non-hai components.

It has also seemed like hai tech support is limted when you use someones stuff even when they say they support it some tech guys dont even know what cable you use or how to enroll it. they've a few times even said call the other guy like they would know how to program hai to control there stuff....
