I thought that the advantage of the Harmony 890 was its
RF capability?
From their site:
"Logitech's Harmony 890 remote control uses both radio
frequency (RF) and infrared (IR) wireless signals to deliver
powerful complete control of your home-entertainment system
that may be hidden behind cabinets. With a wireless range
of up to 100 feet, the Harmony 890 remote sends RF commands
to a wireless receiver, which then blasts infrared signals
to the components. "
This sounds like it is already supposed to do what you
want?
That is not true the 890 can only control Z-Wave RF Lighting and it's own RF Extender, it can not control other RF devices, in fact there is no universal remote that can control RF devices as RF is proprietary code
