House is 1400 sq ft ranch and has been completely rewired (was 2 wire, no ground... is now 2 wire WITH ground throughout), service upgraded, etc. Neutrals in every switch location.

I looked at Lutron RadioRA, Leviton Vizia RF, Insteon

Because I have conventional switches, the slickest setup for me as a DIYer would be a a system that does not require me to install and power additional boxes just for control button panels. Long story made short, someone on here clued me in to Centralite Jetstream and I am leaning VERY heavily in that direction.

A Jetstream 3-button switch can replace an existing switch and have the top button control the local load, leaving 2 additional buttons to be programmed as scene controls or to remotely control other Jetstream switches.

If I have a ceiling fan and I control fan speed locally at the fan (either using the fan's remote or using the pull chains on the fan) I can program the top button of a 3-button JetStream switch as on/off only for the fan.

Reviews of this Zigbee Pro based system look very favorable and as a retrofit solution it appears pretty robust.

Pricing is about where the Leviton Vizia RF+ switches and keypads are and about HALF of what it would cost me to go with RadioRA. The advantage is that I don't have to pull more wire and install more boxes for control button stations. JetStream is also PC programmable rather than run-around-the-house-pressing-buttons programmable.

It is controllerless, which means I don't have to leave the PC running, no home-run of all loads to central location, etc.

Jetstream has tabletop button controls as well as car visor entry (which I really liked about the RadioRA system) and can be integrated easily with many other things if I want to go beyond lighting control.

JetStream will handle more loads than I'll ever have in this house. RadioRA was pretty limited unless I added a Chronos which sends the price of that system even higher into the sky although even without the Chronos, I don't think I'd be pushing the RadioRA load limit.

What I DON'T know...
I'm working with Centralite directly to see if they'll send me a sample switch so my wife and I can "feel" it. Nobody around me has these and I don't want to commit to a couple thousand dollars in equipment without having actually held one in my hand.

I still like the RadioRA, but right now, at about half the cost, Centralite is winning in my mind.

Just thought I'd toss this in here for comments.
