I HATE cable boxes. The last one I had just decided one day to stop receiving any sort of IR signal, and it sounds like something similar is happening to you. These stupid boxes are always the weakest link in anyones HT setup. I hate that I don't have premium channels anymore, but it isn't worth the hassle with those things. My suggestion. Take the cable box out of the loop, as it is most likely the problem.
