I believe it goes something like this...The center channel is originally mixed a little bright because in a movie theater, the center channel speakers are behind the screen and would otherwise sound muddy. When they transfer the film's soundtrack to DVD, I guess the studio doesn't bother to knock off that "edge". Cinema EQ, RE-EQ are a way for your receiver to do this for you. I don't believe it has anything to do with speaker or room size. R
