In response to your question on the previous page (what speakers and amplification am I using for my Large channels?):
My mains are Cerwin-Vega! AT-100s: I bought them in 1989, so I'm not sure I remember the specs. Each has a 1" tweeter, two 4.5" mids, and a 15" (!) woofer in a back-ported cabinet, and (I think) is rated to 400W.
The unpowered subwoofer is part of a Cerwin-Vega! HTE-10 matched 5.1 set in 1997. It has two 10" drivers in a front-ported cabinet, and is wired for L & R channels as well as having a pass-through for two satellites. (I think) it's rated at 250W per channel.
BTW, I use the four satellites from the same set as my surrounds. The center speaker flunked WAF, so that channel is currently fed into the TVs integral amp and speakers (Pioneer SD-T50W1, if you're interested).
Until a month ago, I powered the speakers using three NAD PE2200. Two were each bridged into 700W mono for the two mains. I ran a Y adaptor from the subwoofer output on my receiver into the third, unbridged at 400W per channel stereo for the two sub inputs.
That was my "stereo audio & Pro Logic" setup. In the last few weeks I've finally entered the modern world of Dolby Digital/DTS/THX, where all channels are theoretically amplified the same... So the current setup is as follows: A Kenwood KRF-X7775D THX Select receiver delivers up to 180W each into the "main" five channels (or would if I wasn't using the TV to drive the center). The sub is wired into the L & R surrounds, passing through to the satellites on those channels.
BTW, the KRF-X7775D only provides five channels of amplification, so I added a Kenwood KMF-X9000 THX Ultra amp (130W per channel) to power the two rear center speakers.
So each of my four Large channels can get up to 180W. At my listening levels, I can shake the room and invite my neighbors over to watch the movie. :) Even though the amps are underrated for the speakers I have noticed absolutely no clipping at any level I care to drive them to, so I'm happy.
And there's no doubt in my ears (grin) that the 15" woofers produce bigger & better bass than the 10" sub does...
