I just bought a Sony DAV-S800 home theatre system and a Sony Wega 38" tv, all placed in a in a 18'x13' open-plan lounge. I placed the subwoofer next to the tv against a solid wall, the F's equidistant from the tv, and the R's at the sides of the sofa which is 15' from the tv.

My open-plan lounge has 2 solid walls, double-glazed patio doors along the length of the 3rd side and one side with a 5' tall wall which separates the lounge from the dining room (one of those weird cases!)

How can I improve the performance of my S800? Are there any cables with S800-compatible connectors that can improve the clarity and depth of sound? Is the positioning of the sub next to the tv 15' from me correct?

I am looking for a UK supplier or a US one who delivers to the UK.

Any tips will be much appreciated.
