The mitsu tv allows for direct video channel selection using discrete codes. You will need a remote capable of accepting these codes. You should also have a remote capable of performing macros. My guess is that any remote capable of discrete programming will also accept macros.
I use a pronto and have macros assigned to icons that handle all the switching so the wife does not have to.
Example, TV icon turns on tv, selects appropriate input then switches to cable tuner screen. DVD icon powers up tv, reciever, dvd player, places tv in proper video made, receive in dvd mode then displays dvd screen. Lighting icons to set x-10 in motion, etc.
