Sounds like your remote are working like it 1991 because your buying remotes with 15 year old technology in them. While a $20-$40 JP1 remote can do awesome things with enough time and patience, you really need to spend $100+ to get the Features your decribing here.....
Bare minimum you should be loking at a URC-100
