While not as nice as the Sony CX777ES, I have three of the Sony DVP-CX985V's which still sport a suprisingly nice picture and all for the price of just one Sony CX777ES. This is tax, tags, service, out the door too. I am now up to 949 DVD discs with 251 slots left in the 3rd changer.

All 949 DVD discs are directly accessible by individual DVD cover images via my Phillips ProntoPro NG TSU7000. I use this remote for the rest of my home theatre as well. The DVD navigation section of my remote allows you to browse by letter with 16 DVD covers per page. If a particular DVD title includes more than one disc I have just included additional DVD cover images on that page for each additional disc. I have been working up DVD submenu pages as well though. This is where a DVD cover image will jump you to hidden submenu pages for that title giving additional detail on each disc. The discs load from there. I have themed these submenu pages accordingly. Some are just one page spreads with individual cover images. Some include full page spreads, one for each disc in that DVD title.

All I wanted was to be able to access my DVD collection by letter and DVD cover image. I was not interested in any other detail per DVD disc. I can use DVD Profiler for that. (I use DVD Profiler to keep track of what slot each DVD disc is in by the way.) The only exception to this would be for DVD titles which include multiple discs. The TSU7000 has given me the ability to very easily create submenu pages for such titles where I can include specific detail for each disc. Programs like DVDLobby and others I have looked at did not offer this flexibility. They also required a HTPC of course, which is something I wanted to stay away from if possible.

For a very small amount of money I have been able to automate my entire DVD collection with room to spare along with the rest of my home theatre equipment. Each DVD cover image in the remote is linked to a macro which ensure all the appropriate equipment is on, set to the right inputs, then loads the DVD from the appropriate changer, and jumps to the controls for that particular DVD changer. This all happens in a couple seconds. It works flawlessly. I have not had a macro fail one time in this regard. It has been a full proof solution for me.

Below I have linked to a thread if you have not seen it that goes into some more detail. It include pics and such as well. Enjoy!
