I believe what he's saying that he's trying to
set the decoders in the manner as mentioned on
page 32 of the manual, but in doing so the the
whole unit is "locking up". Nothing will work
(including volume control) and the only means
by which he can reset it, is by doing a "Ferranti"
reset . . . cycling the power. (Don't think he
meant to imply, "pulling the plug out the wall"
was in the manual).
Yea thats what I meant. It completely locks. Just put it on DVD input, play a 5.1 signal, press THX on the remote, open the flap on the remote and press the cursors up down left right and hey presto it locks. Nothing will work. the only solution is to pull the plug.
