I posted some info in another thread some time ago about my testing with DVI versus component cables. A link to the thread follows:

If you are having better luck with one set of component cables over the other, why not swap the component cables, and see if the better picture moves with the cable that you suspect to be better. If the better picture doesn't move with the cable, the cable is not the limiting factor!
