So .... are the speakers okay to keep? Or can I get some good bang for the buck for 500 - 1000 ($)?? I'd like to save the money for now, but anything I can do to convince the wife "we really 'need' them" - you know the deal!

Does the 650 have the multi room? What's the diff btw 650 & 750? Does 750 have THX?

I understand that fixing the Sony isn't worth it - but if it "is" a fuse (if there is such thing with these) - I can mysteriously discover that after I get the new set up - and just use it in the garage or basement!
