Assuming you're trying to copy VHS to DVD...no VCR is going to help you.
Macrovision is detected by the recording device (DVD), it has nothing to do with the playback device (VHS).
Macrovision is encoded into the vertical interval, the playback device doesn't know about it, and doesn't care.
