I guess it's not being dumb to say that your camera has to have an IR port to receive remote commands, which means there must be a remote control for it somewhere. If it comes with the next model up, maybe you can take your URC to the store with you and sweet talk the salesdude into letting you learn the commands. Other than that, all I can say is I have a Sony camcorder that comes with a remote, and I taught the commands perfectly to a couple of my own remotes. I haven't found a URC yet that lists video cameras, although I have asked a couple of companies if they would include them.
