I don't think anyone expects anyone else to be an expert. Just to do a bit of reading and searching on the site. There's a tremendous amount of information here. Most of it has been posted multiple times. Some of it seems to be posted weekly. Yes, some things are hard to find, but other times it's just an unwillingness to search.

Generally speaking, you'll find that the RC forums are frequented by an unusually large number of very helpful individuals.
