I should have noticed that. You're right and it's a bigger factor in the problem than anything I mentioned, though I still think the problem is a combination of causes.

Do you want to quantify "well in advance". I expect you only mean a second or two. But I don't have a Pronto, so I don't know those details of the learning process.

In all the non Pronto learning remotes I've used you need to press the button on the learning remote first and the transmitting remote second, but you don't need any real pause in between. The 1/4 second to 1/2 second that it naturally takes (to get your fingure to the other button) is plenty.
