what you would need is some X10 stuff (try the X10 forum on this site), then you will need an IR543 or IR543AH depending on how many lights you want to control. With that setup any universal remote that can learn can control it. The best would be
HTM MX-500, 700, 800
Philips Pronto or Pronto Pro
Marantz RC 5000,5000i,5200,9200
Harmony

these are also the best remotes for devices. The ir->X10 device does not come with a remote. So to be able to control it you need either a remote that contains the codes or one that is PC programmable
