Unfortunately there are very few, if any, universal remotes with codes for DVR's, and probably less with a code for Atlas, so you will need a learning remote with sufficient capacity to learn all of the DVR commands. All remotes should be able to control your Yamaha, but you will still have to learn many commands.

You could get a Sony VL700 (which may be discontinued), or a VL-900, which is at least $50.

Your best bet is a OneForAll or Radio Shack remote, but these have limited learning capacities, probably not more than 25 commands, so you would need jp1 or upgrading.
