My wife bought me a universal remote for Christmas, and I am trying to decide whether to keep the one she bought, or get a different one - she admitted that she wasn't sure what she was buying.

What would really make life easy - at least for my wife - is to have macros programmed for "Watch TV" "Watch DVD" etc..

My question is this: How do the toggle button/functions work when doing this? For instance, to watch DVD, the TV needs to be on, and set to Video 1 input. My Sony TV has a remote with one button that toggles between ANT, Video 1, Video 2, and Video 3. Can these remotes be programmed to jump to Video 1 without having to toggle through ANT, etc.? I would have the same issue with TV/Video on the VCR - it needs to be in Video mode to run the VCR, but if I program a macro to set it to Video, and it's already in Video, will the macro just toggle it to TV? Power On/Off would be an issue on just about everything.

Thanks for any help you can provide me.
